What are some good activity ideas for a school photography club?
My friend and I have decided to try and start a photography club at our school. But before we go and talk to the counselor we want to come up with ideas for activities to do within the club. I can only come up with a few so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? Thanks in advance :- take pics of the school teams?
- Hmm possibly: - Is there a newspaper at your school? If not you could get together with writers and see if they are interested in the idea of one and they could write and you could take the pictures : - Take pictures and make collages with them to go around the school - Compare the differences between famous photographer's style and learn to how bring your own style into your photography - Look into the different type of careers with photography - Make something collages, photo calenders, photos, etc. and have an art sale to raise money for your club - ^^ If you do the above you could go on a field trip to The Art of Photography Show which you could also win money in or just an art show, I just happened to stumble upon this show while searching the internet - Put together a book or slide show of pictures you captured of the seniors and at the end of the year sell them to the seniors You would have to be able to go around the school and have people willing to have their pictures taken - Do you have photo shop or any picture editing software? Teach everyone how to use it if you do - Have everyone take pictures to tell a story and share it in front of everyone else - Have everyone pick a category they like in photography zone, travel, food, etc. and focus on taking those pictures for a week or two so everyone gets to do something they enjoy and have them share why they are interested in that category You could also ask them what they would like to get out of the club. =
- Make a pin hole camera. Develop your own pictures. Invite professional photographers to come speak hopefully pro bono. The possibilities are endless. sounds fun!
- How about getting them to do a visual diary, they write an account based on a day a diary entry of a day or special event then get them to take photographs to create a visual diary of the day they have described. Also getting them to work on different techniques and things like focusing on still life photography, portrait photography, black and white photography. Maybe teaching them how to edit photographs after wards if you have editing software at school. I hope these are helpful :

Why would a high school photography cl want the kids to use a 35mm camera?
