I want to do product photography. What type of equipment do I need?
- Camera. Lighting. Product
- photographic equipment
- Products usually require artificial lighting and studio work. To eliminate harsh deep shadows, you will look for diffuse or multiple fixtures. Flash is easier because you can use daylight film, but very hard to control shadows, reflectors may help here. Tungston lights are expensive require heavy blue filtering which can wash color saturation. Just starting out i would suggest digital camera so you can see immediately how lighting is working. Once you workout the shot, you can switch to film. your clients really determine if your completed work should be film or digital. You need a textbook on studio lighting technique as this will give you good ideas and prevent repe ive errors
