Would a photography school want somebody that is. ?
- They will look at your transcripts as a whole, including all your cl es, grades, extra curricular stuff. As part of your GPA, it will count, but its not going to count that much against you
- They will probably look at all of your grades, just like any other college. I suggest that when you retake the cl, get a tutor. Colleges want a well - rounded student that is good at every subject, so you want to work as hard as you can to keep up your grades. I know it is hard, but fight through
- most art schools are great, but do not care about your earlier grades because you pay a lot of money
- Putting admission to a school aside for a moment, "in the olden days, " there was a lot of math in photography. Much of that has been taken over by computers although these computers look pretty much like cameras so you will not have to do a lot of calculations that we used to go through. However. If you aspire to a professional career, I think you really WILL need to understand these things, because the camera and flash can not figure out everything for you. The good news is that it seems to be pretty much straightforward math with calculations based on standard formulas and none of them invlove calculating the area under a curve or the volume of a sphere. Now, as far as admissions. GPA counts, an art school would be more interested in the related subjects and your portfolio than your geometry grade. You can not skate through with failing grades, so you must take geometry over and p, but you do not need an A in geometry. My son and both of my sisters got into art school - all at the university level - so I know this information is true
- try and figure out why you can not get it. I remember in high school I did awesome in geometry, trig, etc. but terrible in physics. I just could not get it. I had to get a tutor and was happy to get a C one semester. Talk to your teacher if you do not understand something and let him know about the problems. I am sure he or she would be happy to help you
- Doesn't matter if you failed Geometry. Photography is an art and has nothing to do with maths or religion. Did Marilyn Monroe have good grades? No. There you go. Any agency will give a second look to a person who has poise, is natural, and sort of innoncent looking. You have to sell yourself in this industry, whether it is music or arts. What catches the eye is what counts
- I never like maths but well i managed to get MSc in Finance. So try harder not thing is impossible. BUT if you certain that you want to be a professional at Photography then go on. I do strongly advise you to take a part time or go and get some summer job in Photography business to reconsider what it like. Sorry to sound like a head master here. I have long interest in Photography both in films and digital. Here I am taking short course in Photography and I do enjoy every moment of it but back to reality I never gonna be professional photographer or earn lot and lot money from it. There are more than just you can take a good photo factor to be professional at something. Anyway do not think you will have problem getting in Photo shcool with bad maths. Worst case they might give you a basic test or something
